I understand that organisation went pop not long after that event.

Been training with Nick for about six months now.
Great guy and highly skilled, as you would expect.

A great coach and trainer to work with.
How's that for a glowing report ;D

Can you tell us a little bit about his tai chi training
His daily tai chi workout
Are there any clips of him doing tai chi
What percentage of his training differs from other mma guys
Don't put power into the form let it naturally arise from the form

Should be great. Been training with Nick for about six months now.
Great guy and highly skilled real deal fighter, as you would expect.

I hope the tai chi and Neijia/CMA community can really get behind him and show our support and appreciation.
Wish him well. Vegas here we come. :D

Hi Clouds, That looks just like an ordinary taiji for health style.
I watched Nicks video's, He is a great fighter, but that isn't martial taiji, He himself is martial, there is a difference.

His shirt is for lack of a better term, totally fucked. It has Water but not Fire, two First Sons and no Second Daughter. It's neither King Wen's nor Fuxi's arrangement. Screams "poser" which I'm sure is not an accurate portrayal of the gentleman in question. Gotta scoot, those refrigerators aren't going to become "airborne" by themselves!

This guy is no poser, if there is anyone who wants to truly use taiji in mma, i would say it's him.
That transmission appears to be a health version, but there most likely is a whole lot going on besides what is being shown.
Perhaps it is better to wait for clouds to reply?

Ian's taiji is far superior, not even in the same realm, but Ian is no killer.

:) Maybe he is a too kind of a guy. That's the vibes I'm getting. But Tai Chi can work very good as a kind of anti-aggressive art. Tai Chi doesn't acknowledge aggression or violence, not from an aggressor and doesn't work well with that kind of attitude. In fact, I do believe that Tai Chi works better IRL with Ian's mind-set than with the attitude of many others who only use Tai Chi as a shallow surface for a general fighting mind-set.

Hi Wayne,

He has a background in Yang style, but I don't know the particulars I'm afraid.
He's also trained with the Cheng Ting Hung Wu style lineage here in the UK; Oxford branch.
I believe Nick is always trying to improve.

As you noted Willy, I think there's more going on than the impression you may have gotten.
I'm not sure I would make distinctions in that way regards health and martial, in this case.
But ok. :)

From about 3 minutes on I believe that is Ian Sinclair doing some sparring at a "throwdown".
If you mean the many hours of clips he has with compliant application, compliant drills, forms and tons of talking.
Then yes, guys like Ian can claim those "superior taiji" world titles with ease. ;D

I really like Ian and what he does, but it's not a good (edit: or fair) comparison to try and make I think.

No, it's not a very good sparring attempt. I can agree with that.

OOH, I do believe that Tai Chi people should do a whole lot more of sparring and similar, and preferably enter free style competitions. OTOH, I don't believe that Tai Chi people tend to approach sparring wrongly. They tend to approach sparring with a common sparring mind set and forget about using Tai Chi strategy and tactics. Sparring should, IMHO, not be "monkey see monkey do" as 99% of the time with amateurs. Sparring would be about establishing integrity and personality, both of the person and of the art. -shrug-
