I think that's what it was. This was the first wushu championship, in 1990, in Kharkov (now Ukraine) organized by Li Jianwen. Li Jianwen had a school in Kharkov (now Ukraine). I believe this was one of his students in a demonstration promoting him and his school, however presented. But, I don't know for sure.

From his school in Ukraine:

so this means that correct timing is something cannot be executed?
is in the realm of myth?
not humanly possible?
you (in general) cannot be con/bluffed/hoodwinked into believing correct timing?
or, is it because you are not able to do it, that's why?

Strange (in general). ??? :)

No.

Real, spontaneous timing has already been posted:

This is/was obviously loosely rehearsed prior to ...for demo purposes. It's easy to see, IMO.

Especially when you've done these things before. It's pre-planed, the moves you're going to demonstrate so you have a good idea what coming next.

Now this (below) in my opinion is Gritty Street, albeit spontaneous...Timing. You get into your opponents rhythm and you can time them up much better. Bang!

Hey strange...my bad, it was not my intention to prove someone wrong or be antagonistic.

I was mostly agreeing with what Lars wrote and also added my opinions.

I think the point marvin8 is making is that timing is much harder to do when it's not choreographed or even has been loosely rehearsed (as I put it). I agree that the implication is that it's much more respected if you can do it for REAL "off the cuff".

I believe it varies abit, be it fighting or some kind of demonstration.

For example, circus trapeze artists need to rehearse routines but they absolutely need great timing. My daughter once took some lessons at a gym for trapeze...swinging back and forth and making the leap to another person (also swinging) to catch their hands.
= Now you put someone on that swing who's never attempted such a thing and they can do it.... I'd say great timing.

So really nobody is wrong or right per say...i'd say it's just some observations.

Timing involves anticipation, Anticipation demands focus and creates tension, There is no room for change, you lose to the superior fighter. The superior fighter already knows what you are going to do as he has led you there, he has already taken into account your every possible response and is prepared.
The point . is absolute
