I don't know much about weapons and this is so different from what I'm used to seeing. It seems they focus a lot on certain type of body conditioning and have a preference for flailing type movements over piercing. Wonder what lead to that? That spinning wheel training is rather interesting too, even though it's not my cup of tea.
I like most of the stuff shown in this clip but he doesn't emphasize extreme twirling like the 1st clip. In fact his spear stuff is pretty similar to the Chinese style staff I learned. It's also quite possible the editor for the first clip simply pick the flashier training material to show.
