I saw this on the ol' book of faces not too long ago. I thought it looked good, but wasn't aware that there was a claim to Sun Lu Tang. Sun Style Baguaquan(zhang) looks similar but simpler. I think a lot of times these guys learned from Sun from some short period, since Sun tended not to stick around for a long period, and then learn from someone else who may have not been so famous. Then when asked who they studied mention the more famous name just because it gives more credibility to what they are doing.

It definitely shouldn't take away from what the man above is doing because he is obviously skilled at least in movement. He's probably long since past but I would imagine he had some skill considering how well he moves.

True. He travelled a lot and seem more interested to learn than teach. And when he was teaching he usually taught more simplified versions focusing on health and neigong.

But also, every skilled practitioner creates his own personal style and has his own personal flavour. I see no reason for a gent to become a copy of someone else just because that someone else is more famous.

BTW, I like the way he does it. The way he does it seem to be really excellent practice for someone of his age. 8-)

Quite nice, this gentleman starts out with fairly standard Ding Bu (fixed step) single and double change palms, and snake palm, and then seems to move through Huo Bu (living step) variants.

I expected him to emerge with Giant Bird Supports the Heaven after san chuan zhang (3 penetrating palms) but he didn't express that or some of the other basic mother palms....some variants of Sun Baguaquan keep the mother palms as an entirely seperate form.

In China I saw many different expressions of Sun's style , enough to say that whilst the basic form looks simple it is in fact an extensive system.

Almost all of the Sun Baguaquan shown on Youtube is a simple fragment of the complete system, I have yet to see anyone discuss the jibeng gong, neigong, post training, equipment training, fighting principles and exercises and specialised sword skills
