Hi,

I have been looking for this old youtube video for some time.
It was mentioned either here or in EmptyFlower, I´m not sure.
It showed and old Chinese gentleman training with a tree.
It was something similar to tree shaking except that he was rubbing against the bark, rather than shaking the trunk.
At the moment of watching, I thought this training seemed to have a nei going quality.

I found it very interesting but am so stupid I did not keep the link or remember the title.

Posting this in the hope some of you fellas knows how to find this video or happens to have any info about it.

Thanks.

I am clueless on the tree training but it is an outlier in zhanzhuang neigong training ???
As I imagine I understand the concept. differnt trees have differnet qualitites that assist in refining qi, whether in oxygen exchange, bettering the 'life energy' of the practitioner while allowing for the co2 to be take, extracted more efficiently from the practitioner. If that side is correct then one has to be aware that other trees have a negative quality that "may" be detrimental to said practitioner.

Not too hot on this aspect but the sap of some trees are know to cause epidermal tearing and therefore dangerous. One had better have some background in tree identification for their own benefit ???

I seem to remember a reference to a teacher in Vancouver, BC who taught a similar type of tree training, perhaps I am making this up but I will try to search/remember a name ???

Thanks Shawn but no, it was not Liang Ke Quan and it was not conventional tree impact work either.
It was rubbing rathern than hitting.
If I remember correctly, it was a bit like doing Bagua against the bark.

Thanks Daniel but no, the type of work was much more intense.
The old gentleman was, I think, on the chubby side and he rubbed really hard his torso against the bark.
Which is why I though there was something to this type conditioning and wondered about its purpose and benefits.
An untrained person doing this exercise at this level of intensity would leave pieces of skin on the tree.

Did it perhaps feature background music that was a synth cover of the music from the scene in ghost where Patrick swayze and whatshername end up fooling around while she's trying to throw clay on a pottery wheel?

Thanks retreats, definitely it is not Mr. He.
I just looked it up on youtube, what Mr. He is doing is very soft compared to the video I seek.
That video also had much more torso work.

At the time I thought it had a Bagua flavor but I do not know for sure what the style was.
The gentleman seemed quite skilled, I must have watched it maybe about 7 years ago.
Shame on me for not downloading the video or at least keeping the link.
Probably would be of interest to many here.
