In Pigua or Tongbei there are two types of whipped power essential to this arts,
One is like a whip, the other is like flail, neither power is shown.
In Xingyi, the footwork is essential. The person is like a spear.
SM hammer power source and application is entirely different.
Not saying you can't fuse them, but for beginners, this is confusing and not helpful for foundation.

But what happens if they grab your voluminous beard instead of your shirt?

Hit them over the head with the voluminous tome you promote at every opportunity!

Those who move better - produce superior videos - I will be the first to watch them. Those who write better - produce superior books - I will be the first to read them. 8-) I am happy with my lot, but always willing to learn from others. I also have an inferior beard, as it does not possess an authentic lineage.

Just feel like to refresh my memory ~
Long beard is great, in fact Sikh warriors are compulsory to have long beard and wear a knife.

Cheers,

Overlord, you do know master Zhou is my shigong in the Xing Yi and Pigua systems which I teach, and that I studied with him for long periods of time, right?... Do you have a point in sharing videos of his performing and explaining different things to the material I was demonstrating in my own video?

A person who is not familiar with the curriculum usually cannot attribute the correct techniques shown in application to the empty-handed movements. For instance, in the third video Zhou shifu shows a variation on Xing Yi's Ying Xing (Eagle) which is different to the one I showed in my video. But in fact I was taught both of them. Likewise, another video of him you posted shows possible applications for Wu Long Pan Da, and these are simply not shown in my video. But I do teach them often.

In your previous comment you seem to have made the mistake of thinking Pigua should look like what you see with Wu Long Pan Da, which is a common misconception. In Pigua there is quite a lot of close-quarters combat, but it is seldom shown on video, for no particular reason.

Jonathan, Master Zhou appeared to be a very knowledgeable and excellent teacher and practitioner. A real shame he passed on so young.

For a good feel of Pigua, Wang Zhihai is good representation of it's essence, though application may vary between schools.
I think he is 70 yo now~
