I wouldn't say this is Dragon as I understand it. Nothing wrong with it and I was shown something almost identical in Xing Yi, but not from Dragon.

No, it's not Dragon - it's an outside hook takedown. I'm sure you can use your imagination to work out how you do that with Dragon?

Yes, I know what it is. I meant that it doesn't fit with dragon as I was shown, but does fit pretty well with another animal form. As for imagination, I've been told far too many times I have no idea what I am talking about, so it is better I don't use my imagination! God knows what I will think up!

Well, according to the song, imagination can make a man of you! ;D

It's just a matter of variation.

If you do your Dragon with the weight more on the front leg like this:

Rather than on the back leg:

...then the outside hook becomes possible.

It's all just variations to me, depending on what the attacker does, rather than a strict "this is the form my master showed me so only this is allowed!" mindset ;D

I fully expect the "Orthodox Style Police" to turn up soon, maybe throw a banquet and tell everyone how they only have the real stuff. :P
