FWIW, this video was made by a particular student acquaintance very early in the learning process when there were still many misunderstandings in the terminology and how this manifests in the mind and body. It doesn't discuss what any of the terminology really means or how the mind is utilized to actually make it internal power training (or more). Much of the displayed movement goes against the intentions of what the training is trying to build. I would say using this video as a reference is contraindicated for those reasons. Caveat emptor.

Reading snafu's post, I am assuming not. This guy in the OP is struggling, and I am assuming snafu is much more comfortable with the material, given Tom's statement.

Interesting. People working with body-psychotherapy usual have a very deep interest in body knowledge. Yet, having a lot of intellectual knowledge about the body is quite another thing than having developed a good sense of internal body awareness. ...But he seem to be very serious about what he does and eleven years is not a very long time of Tai Chi practice for a "qualified" teacher. I bet that he could eventually become a great teacher in the deeper aspects of the arts. 8-)

looks more like a stretching exercise... he's turning too much for taiji. "Strange" structure. too much upper body for my taste.
