Here is a video of La Canne in a bit more live setting. Despite the presence of what feels to me to be too much protective gear, there is great movement and some nice really nice exchanges.
What’s the point of it? There are other and better ways to show athleticism, IMHO.

La Canne is a traditional martial art that has acquired a showy form of demonstration, related only loosely to its practical application.
I define internal martial art as unusual muscle recruitment and leave it at that. If my definition is incomplete, at least it is correct so far as it goes.
