Nick Osipczak

Postby Greg J on Tue Feb 27, 2018 9:41 pm

I'm not sure if this particular video has been posted here or not (I didn't see it when I searched the forum), but it highlights different facets of Nick Osipczak.

As most of you know, he trained CMA prior to MMA, and in the video below shares his thoughts about the relationship between Tai Chi/ the IMA and MMA.

I really like his approach to training and to life.

Best,
Greg

George (Cloudz) from the board trains with Nick and says he is very good :)

i am sure he would be able to answer any questions on his approach.

Thanks for posting the vids.

Absolutely, no worries. If anyone has any questions or are curious about anything fire away; I'm actually due to see him tomorrow night. Coming up to a couple years of regular training with Nick, twice a month give or take. His sacred geometry artwork is pretty awesome too!

Which bit of his orbital bone did he break, and did he need surgery? (I can see a scar under his right eye)

(just been through a similar thing myself).

Yea he did that in his last fight, I'll ask him about it. Not sure of the details but I don't think he had surgery - at least not a plate put in like your good self. (Still) Can't beleive how he came flying out at the bell in that fight, he was clocked real good straightaway and it's a testament to Nicks will, ability and experience that he came back from it and choked the guy out.

Thanks - yeah, he walked straight into that punch - that's the worst possible way to get hit - you moving forward into a force as it hits you (I know!) As it doubles the impact. Nice jiujitsu to get the finish there!

I was interested in which bit of the bone he broke (there are 7 in there) - I think he broke the bit that faces forward on the outside - Maxillary bone?. I think they usually put some pins in to hold it all together, but he might not have needed it.

Image

The seven bones that form the orbit:
yellow = Frontal bone
green = Lacrimal bone
brown = Ethmoid bone
blue = Zygomatic bone
purple = Maxillary bone
aqua = Palatine bone
red = Sphenoid bone

teal = Nasal bone (illustrated but not part of the orbit)

Yea, I think his black and gold series is my favourite style.. Only thing is it won't suit the colour scheme in my house. I've asked for a black and silver number, which'll look great I think. :) It's definitely an intruiging and fascinating subject I'd love to learn more about myself.

I like it, he gets it in every way, his martial skills are not mixed but well underway to being complete, and his integrative understanding of the arts is dead on with the holistic view he takes.
The point . is absolute

Graham, not certain the exact bone names of the orbital but one under the eye and one nearer the nose. Who knew there were so many :)
