dude, you sound bridled at my post, heh. are you?
your "reading" of a still from A VID that you HAVE WATCHED and the OUTCOME KNOWN
was just too rich for me. It reminded me of HK and Taiwanese tabloid reporters, writing
long, juicy and scandalous stories to stimulate readership and purchase. "Sensational!" :D

the best part was about that WC guy's front foot; " It is shearing the energy off at an angle " !!!!
" crumble flank position" !!! "back leaning stance is retreating" !!!
lmao!

It is wing chun, goat-grip stance. some xy practitioners also hook their front foot AND KNEE slightly
as a defense against groin kicks and to increase stability. Which school? Shanxi Che-style xingyi.
Che YH is Old Farmer's eldest student and some consider the most learned.

i saw you training in mma and taiji... so a word to the wise:
no need to train taiji if you do mma, that taiji is not gonna happen

Boxer vs Wing Chun. Apparently, the same venue.

From Chinese boxing history first one-armed challenge! National Junior Championship 57kg class champion cherish, http://www.sangbe.com/article/184439.html:

You may ask, arms are playing a steel plate, but also boxing, but also to participate in boxing match it?

I want to answer you, it is because of his immense love of boxing.

Our school has a strong tai chi fighting tradition and we turn the front foot in
The only people I don't teach this to are those only doing it for health

There are times when turning the front foot in would be sufficient, clearly not that time. His intention is split. Strange has no idea what he is talking about. Did you see how easily that stance crumbled? It reminds me of a unanimated statue . Xu's Stance is far superior and even his could be greatly enhanced by taiji

The foot pointing inwards is mainly used a break when you have a forward momentum, to prevent the body's from continuing forward. If you are not moving forward or if you don't move with a forward leaning posture, it's pretty worthless IMO. As a stance it can be good for another other, but most WC-people don't know about any other use than to look more "WC-ish". IMHO of course...

Had another look at it. He doesn't seem to be mainly a WC practitioner. He doesn't stand or move as any WC-practitioner I've watched. They usually use a taller stance and moves with smaller steps. This guy seems to favor a broader stance, so I would suggest that he has another background in other styles.

See. maybe this is the problem with some CMA - people obsessing over whether a toe should be turned in or not, while getting punched repeatedly in the face?

I get your point rob but here's the thing, can we at least try to get it right before getting stupid. And to make my point even clearer for those who decided to s*** all over the great advice of my grand master. How do you think a car would handle if one of the front wheels was 15 or 20 degrees out of alignment? One wheel would want to go straight and the other wheel would want to be taken either a left turn or right turn depending on if it was in or out. This divides the intent. Slam dunk and that's the game. Have a nice day.

The "WC" guy wasn't obsessed by the question regarding the toes. He just got punched in the face.

If only I had a quarter for every time I've seen a TCMAist get knocked out by a boxer/kickboxer/Sanda guy.... :'(

IMO, TCMAists with no sparring experience against strikers with combat sport backgrounds are basically sitting ducks when facing a barrage of vicious punches to the head.

It's what I consider to be a main area of weakness commonly observed in TCMA -- weak head defense with guard stances that usually leave the chin wide open. The tendency to keep the upper body too rigid and upright is another issue.
