i took it to mean that a good part of ma is based on intuition, as opposed to logical reasoning.

It's very easy to look at this demo and dismiss it as nothing but qi-hippie-voodoo non-sense, but this sort of "intent" training is actually very crucial in terms of developing the body awareness needed to generate power and stability in IMA.
