Ving Tsun Gwoh Sau

Here's a short clip of my ving tsun teacher doing some gwoh sau with a longtime student of his. He demonstrates really well (in my opinion) the directness and simplicity of the system: always taking the most direct angle to attack the center of mass. The one-inch punch that he demonstrates is just a test of conectedness/structure.

lol I certainly know what you mean! There are plenty of examples of *ing *ung teachers beating the crap out of a submisive student who throws a lame punch and then gets a million chain punches in the face. Of course, that isn't at all the point. Control of the opponent through structure and angles of attack, luring the opponent in to a counter attack...good ving tsun is a pretty refined thing, as is any martial art at a high level.

Well, if it makes you feel better I did bust his lip with a spin kick once during sparring. Of course, I was never able to do that again.

The sifu is good, the student in the first clip (OP) did not have correct body karma (structure) in his bong sau, or correct angles. Kudos to the sifu tho.
