DAi-BoXeR's Shuaijiao

Postby Iron Apprentice on Mon Aug 24, 2009 11:54 am

Heres two quick shots. Only have many quickies to edit togther. Will take a minute. This was my first time out after learning for 6 months with Jiaolian He Guanda and nabbed the bronze. The gold is as good as mine next time! Im gonna eat like 100 tacos, 75 dumplings, 30 lbs of Mongolian beef, to throw on a few lbs and then Im coming for you Fong (A BIG boi)! (Mortal Kombat voice "Mwahahaha-Fight!) Lol. Ive got a lot to learn. But training Beijing Shuaijao with XY and BGZ? And you can beat Fedor AND Arlovski at the same time! :P

First match against Warren. Was up 7-3 in the last minute and gassed out damnit!!!

Second match against unknown but cool dude. Blew his ass out 7-zip!!!

Cheers friend. I kno your face I saw you there. Im sure Ill see you again. Ive no intention on stopping anytime soon. It was an honor to participate as everyone involved were great competitive sportsman, huggin and exchanging numbers. Thats what its about, kindred spirits getting together to play with, challenge, and improve each other. Im still high from the whole thing. Salute.

Dai, you've got some raw power there man, makings of a scary grappler.
Tough to see from a couple clips here, but how much do you spend working for the best possible grip? I see you get one grip and hold it in all matches here. Works cause you completely over powered your opponents, which was great, but I saw a couple places you could have switched grips quickly and made life a bit easier on yourself. Just a thought, I didn't start working this aspect a lot until I started fighting guys 30-40lbs bigger than me (and if Fongs a big boy may be something to look into haha).

Thx Brady! Good eyes man! Best advice Ive gotten, and my Coach has been on my case about that. I was tryin though, but they were holdin on too, trying to immobilize my hands so it was hard to get away so I held also and just started runnin with them. Thats a major weakness of mine; holding on and just using footwork and position, but also one of the main areas Im most curious of and keen on improving; grip fighting, as well as stamina and more conservative efficient exertion. Im a XY BGZ guy thats only been at SJ (formally) for a few months. But gimme a minute more and hopefully I can really amount to something. As for Fong I was just teasin cuz I met him in person finally. Cheers.

i like the monkey crouch you got going right at the start. nice to see some agility, surprisingly rare in CMA types.
