Members' video clips - post your clip here

Postby GrahamB on Tue Sep 01, 2009 3:53 am

How about a thread where members can post their backyard training video clips? Just so we can see who we all are and what we get up to?

It's always good to put a name to a face. Make it purely voluntary. People who aren't too precious (er, sorry I mean "don't have a video camera" ;D ) about appearing on film can post their own clips here.

Mods - If we like this idea can you make this post a sticky, like the new members introductions?

I'll get the ball rolling. Some Choy Lee Fut morning workout/messing around. As you can see, my son has his own unique version of Sao Choy - "sweeping fist" :)

I think its cool. It could be better if the clips would all be about the same thing, the same move, or whatever. Different versions and points of view for one single drill/form. That would be food for thought.

Otherwise, we would just be facebooking. :-\

Not so much a shit idea.. but I think Jose makes the point. Sometimes it's good to have things neatly categorised for consumption. Here we might end up with a thread full of random clips on different stuff..

As much as you're a sight for sore eyes Graham. I don't have as much interest in CLF :D

I think it's a good idea. I think it's very interested to see what people get up to in their everyday training, and not just demos/apps/etc. Just not sure I want to broadcast my mediocrity to the world :)

I like Random. Sometime the best ideas come from looking outside the particular box you've put yourself in.

I mean - just look at this guy:

;D

edededed - you are too kind Sir. :) The 'backyard' is hypothetical though - wherever you train :)

I don't train now regulary and only have some shitty BJJ matches. (it has no end or I always lose, and they are not quite good matches) But maybe I will give you some kettlebell stuff. :)

Umm well here is something i'm working on right now.
A part from one of the two Xiao Jia forms (Baji Small frame) that i know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA29TPXC0w4 . Mostly about combining techniques from your body, later on doing it faster.
A little partnerwork:
Slapsparring, open hands to the head, fists to the body. Just about movement, combining techniques and moving. No finishers:

Messing around with techniques, trying out things, failing and so on:
