Its about time the public get educated on Chinese swords and the arts that surround them - good stuff.
I have personally been into swords and sword making for many years now. My teacher, the avid swordsman that he was would take me around to see his friends different ancient swords that have been passed through the generations and every sword was different and amazing in its own right.
One thing that is not pointed out very often that the Chinese thought of them as alive, many believed them to be possessed either by gods, demons or a partial of the souls that they have killed. Most men would honor their swords spirit the same way you offer to an ancestral table and altar table for the gods. I noticed that many of the old military swords would have prayers etched on them just to protect the owner of the sword from the evil angry spirits of the slain and curse those who would pick it up out of his/her dead hands. Many of great weapons were left on battlefields due to these curses and that is why trying to find old "military" weapons is rare and very far inbetween compaired to the thousands of dress, civilian and practical weapons throughout.

Although I admit I have never made a sword, I have literally talked with "masters" of the subject until my breath has run out and I love to learn about this subject as much as I can.

Thanks for posting......

Yang Jiang has a long history of knife, scissor, and sword making since >1400 years ago.

according to the family record of Feng.

In 557, General Feng stationed his army near the area. He ordered swords and weapons. The technology stayed within the military. General Feng's grandson served as a public officer. He passed away in 646. After that, the technology of sword and weapon making started to be transferred to the civilian in the area.
