This Pigua is from Gansu province. The performer is Zhou Jian Rui and his skill is apparent. This is actually from bailewen's account and I made the clip shorter. You can find this vcd on plumpub.com or cmaod.com

2nd clip is pretty awesome. Is it sped up though? I swear at some parts the hands move faster than I thought humanly possible. I've heard so much about Mizong footwork but these clips are the 1st ones I've seen that are clear there are some nice footwork in it. Also Mizong is pigua?

No, no, I just threw in some mizong clips so as to not waste space. LOL

The exercises in the first clip are pretty interestings and similar to what I learned.

The second clip is the second form of piguaquan that apparently is characterized by the upwards whirling of the hands (as opposed to the normal downwards whirling characterized by the first form). Does Wutan's piguaquan have the upwards whirling, too?

Here are the two forms of pigua we play at Wu Tan(g):

PiguaZhang 1st form, performed by young Damon Hwang in 1975 or 1976
(黃偉哲年輕時表演的「 劈掛一路 」 )

PiguaZhang 2nd form - Damon Hwang's performance in April of 2004. The background music was freely assigned by DJ, just to test if Damon can keep running as Piqua. I like this way of performance, even sometimes for practice and teaching. It is really self-enjoyable.

*** Again to give an advice***
Never follow the movement of Damon's performances for your own training ..... there might be "tricks" inside.

4 basic piguazhang techniques - Pi, Bao, Cheng and Kao

After some stationary executions, the above is the first thing I learned in pigua although I play the last one continuously.
