Well I've seen Mikhail and Vlad regularly dispose of small challenges at seminars and it's been recorded. Small because once their challengers felt what they had, they were reluctant to continue testing.

Martin Wheeler came from an extensive Kenpo background and was a certified bad ass before he met Vlad. He made regular trips to Toronto from LA and eventually abandoned the Kenpo throne altogether. Kevin Secours is another big name MMA specialist and he too has placed his hat on Systema's rack. These guys are dedicated martial artists and don't easily suffer fools.

I know it's hard not to label Systema's effectiveness based on this sad example but it would be unfair to do so. Frank Arias is hardly the standard by which Systema is measured. He openly admits he's still learning and I applaud him for testing himself.

This match looked to me like friendly, in-house sparring between two guys who didn't really want or intend to hurt one another, since no speed and very little power was employed in their exchanges. More of a tentative attempt to test out a few things to see how they work. And that's cool. It's all good if something of value is learned in the process. 8-)

I feel that those were very true points coming from a guy who has his own kids in Aikido aswell and hung around sytema for atleast 6-7 years of me talking to him. Sort of the same point can be said of a Wing Chun er who only does Chi Sao and a Tai Chi er who only pushes. If you don't spar and touch hands with other systems you can't get a feel for your art.

I am not sure what to think of the first two clips. It seemed like Wong Kiew Kit was getting the advantage by moving more and more quickly than the other person in the engagements.

The disarm might work of someone is stupid enough to try to hit you with the handle of the sword they are swinging down at you instead of the tip of the blade.
