Chuck Norris World Combat League

I remember hearing about this a while back. Didn't know it was already so solid. Shit is tight. I think they just fight a single 3 minute round so they have to go full blast the whole way. There's no time to feel out the other guy during the first round or anything like that and the referees penalize fighters for "passivity".

Action packed. Me likee.

No grappling. It's a standup format. The rules are all designed to promote lots of action.

Homepage: http://wcl.com/

Rules:

http://www.wcl.com/about/rules/

TECHNIQUES ALLOWED

* Punching - Jab, Cross, Hook, Uppercut, and Spinning Backfist
* Kicking - Front-Kicks, Roundhouse Kicks, Side Kicks, Back Kicks, Hook Kicks, Wheel Kicks,Spinning Kicks
* Kneeing - Front and Roundhouse

TECHNIQUES NOT ALLOWED

* No Throws
* No Takedowns
* No Ground Fighting

PENALIZED ACTIONS

* No Clinching - Intentionally tying-up the opponent's arms in an effort to stop them from punching.
* No Holding - Grabbing the opponent's body in an effort to stop them from attacking or countering.
* No Stalling - Intentionally delaying the action of a contest in any way.
* No Passivity - Retreating or circling without striking - or fighting only when the opponent attacks.

World Combat League athletes are well-conditioned, exciting professional CMA (Combat Martial Arts) fighters. In an effort to encourage consistent "full throttle" fighting action, our team presentation only requires each athlete to compete in two, three minute fights with a significant rest period in between. This allows them to fight at a pace unprecedented in combat sports. No "sticking and moving," no "jab and grab," just "pedal to the metal" fighting action.

It's not clear if lowkicks are allowed. I don't see them use it, it's a formidable weapon. That should change the game bigtime. Ah well the K1 (or K1 Max) format is mostly similar but the level is quite a bit higher there. The statement 'This allows them to fight at a pace unprecedented in combat sports' is bit exaggerated. Though...fun to see this!

nice, powerfull and fast,

as
demo should looks like,
particulary, that is marked by Hollywood sharky
but
do we really need one more not full MA competition format?

e.:
how Chuck can call it World Combat League and cut off throwings? :-\

Cutting off ground game is ok,
however i would allow rolling for 5 - 10 sec and breake it,
if it has no ending in such short time/by clean tech./

well not letting guys circle around is something i don't like. I also don't like the shin guards, and toeguards... they are a BIG NO for adult sport people who are doing they shit as a pro.

Rolling , 30 sec, if there is a clean escape , point , if there is a solid domination, point.
The point . is absolute
