Well, then.. This looks "nice"...

5 mins of "hugging" before a technique is used does not seem "nice"...

Just my opinion from in front of the computer monitor.

please, it can't be wrestling, wrestlers are much more relaxed than that.

who do people who do competitive push hands look way more tense than any other athletes...beside weight lifters maybe?

People with a similar level of skill and ability are going to struggle more to get the technique. Effortlessly dominating someone shows one person has a lot less experience and ability. It's "nice", imo, because you see 2 skilled people on a relatively equal level "fighting" for a finishing technique, and pulling it off.

Damn! I really hate most of these Push Hands clips, but they are a pretty good cure for insomnia. -zzz-

Doc,

Any time you would like to share a far superior push-hands clip that shows two people of relatively equal skill/ability in a similar level of competition... please be my guest.

Oh, please! ::)

The direct force against force demonstrated in that clip is simply a contest of comparative strength, whereby whoever is strongest usually wins. Big deal. Leaning all over each another and muscling one another around can be done by beginners. It wasn't even good wrestling, much less good tai-chi chuan. Totally unimpressive! :-\

So, does this mean you can provide a far superior push-hands clip with the requirements I outlined above? I'm guessing you can provide dozens, considering your comment, and the eye role. Like I said, please do so.

As for your force against force comment... I see more than that going on. I see the 2 people trying to bait each other, and take advantage of any mistakes. I see small changes in positioning to get the upper hand. I see attempts to break structure, also to win a dominant position. Saying what they are doing is merely brute force is (to use your favored tool of communication) ::)
