Well, I think the problem with serialization is the decision to put each film in context. One context is the Skywalker saga, and everyone who saw the original is interested in what happens to Luke. But, the other context is how well the film works as an adventure film on its own. The trailer stimulates interest in the first context, but it's never clear if the second aspect will be any good. It looks like fun, though.

I think that they should have made the Thrawn Trilogy into the sequel films... >:@

I agree - couldn't quite understand why they didn't canonize the best Star Wars books ever written.
