the xingyi player's rum:

the taiji player's rum (obvious reasons)

As I am completely ignorant and dimwitted: Where does this name stem from? Pun on "drunken fist" combined with a general disposition towards rum of the "regulars"?

It was a sig under his avatar for the longest time (since the very, and I mean VERY, beginning IIRC?), but AFAIK someone else suggested that as the actual new forum name. Wasn't it in the 'new name' thread? Can't remember...

I personally preferred "the nameless forum" it was oodles cooler than rum soaked fist.

ultimately I wish Brian wasn't such a fucktard, but if wishes were horses and beggars could ride, then we'd all be riding because apparently Brian is quite happy with his fucktard ways.

"nameless forum" name has no character or identity, plus it would bear the memory of the aforementioned fucktardness and the related events WITHIN the forum's name (i.e. WHY it's "nameless"), which is a very bad idea IMO.

As for what's cooler than what... well to each their own I guess.

Well, "The Opium Foot" name was taken...

I don't remember people being too happy about the name "Empty Flower" either in the first days. One particular guy used to say that 'Emtpy Flower' meant that we were talking shit. Funny how nowadays that guy loves the name.
