That's a nice update D_Glenn, AND it'll fit much better with the black background on the right...
Knowing the rate banners get updated around here, we'll probably see it put up in a couple of years. :P

The problem with this banner and the current one is, that the search field is in the way of the writing. I'ld vote for Oskar's second try.

Do you have a small monitor?

(That's not a person question).

Only, on my 24-inch whopper the search field is miles away from the writing. Maybe you are running in a low screen resolution also?

Yes i thought there will be a problem with small monitors, as i wrote there before.

I was thinking of making a new one more similar to the current banner, but i would make the text better and i could also make it to fade to black. Although i think it would be better to change the background colour to that gray i have there, would go better with the forum colours. But this banner will anyway be only temporary so maybe i don't tease Fong too much with my banners. :D

It has nothing to do with the size of the monitor -- only with the screen resolution...
I have 1600x1200 (on 20") and the banner only begins to invade the search box territory when the window is about 3/4 of the screen width...
Besides it's not a big deal anyway as the search box will always overlap the image and is IMO "white enough" to be sufficiently visible.
Besides-besides, you can resize your browser window (for whatever reason) to be narrow enough for those two to "collide" anyway, regardless of anything.

Except for the fact that smaller monitors can't support larger screen resolutions your statement is entirely correct.

In general yes, but there are plenty of large monitors that have lousy native resolution... There are 17" ones with 1600x1200 and there are 24" ones with 1440x900.

Graham,
mine is 19 inches. And I always thought that I was well-equipped with it 8-)

I use a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, because it's the most pleasant to my eyes (Not that I have any problems with my eyes).

Don't care if these are used or not and I can upload the photoshop files as well.

Sometimes I run my monitor at 640x480, just to remind myself what computers used to be like. I'm a little wild like that.
