Nice, but look at almost all long lasting conflicts where there is bad blood (even eF vs RL). It is hard to chill the fuck up, once the insults and injuries start flying. It takes great personal control or detachment in order to get out of the "monkey dance".

Ah, but during those Youtube clips a black man was yet to be nominated president by one of two major national partys. Or it might have been a white woman. Still and all, a long way from then.
As much as, for instance, I will rue the day Mr. Obama gets elected because I think will be the economic and social ruin of this country, I admire the man for not being a race pimp like Jesse Jackson. Unless things are Machiavellian beyond my grasp, the world turned a corner there. Mr. Obama talking about faith-based (meaning to me local and not dependant on the Federal government) is a far cry from Mr. Jackson's victim/entitlement mentality. If I am correct, I applaud him.

Yeah, - I started to like Barack Obama [as a man] a lot more the last couple of days, ...

... but I still loath his hard lefty vision for this country:

Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and Jimmy Carter all rolled up into to one big socialist ball of confusion...

... we are doomed, DOOMED I SAY, ( if he gets elected).

But John McCain is moving up in the polls, because he is willing to do EVERYTHING it takes to get us out of this energy debacle:

Drill for more oil Off Shore and in Alaska, - develope Shale, Wind, Solar, Nukes, Cellulosic Biofuel, Natural Gas, you name it.

Barack wants to do NOTHING, but let the prices go up, and TAX EVERYBODY MORE. :P

My money is on McCain.

* is there still bickering between eF and RL ? ??? ?

I didn't read this thread from start to finish, - I just jumped in where some Darth said:

..."More Canadians are victims of violence in The U.S. than in any other country, -and we travel a lot"...

Well yeah, you travel around the world talking shit about The U.S. - and then you wonder why that shit doesn't play here! ::)

I can't count the number of times some Canadian started shooting off his mouth about this country at the poker table, and it was all I could do to not drop the deck, jump over the table and strangle his drunk, obnoxiuos ass,...

... and I know I wasn't alone.

Talk that shit in a poker room, a bar, or a club. We will smile, nodd our heads, - and shrug our shoulders ...

... but when you leave, don't be surprised if some thugs follow you out to the parking lot. >:(

Most of the violence is probably perpetarated by irrate waiters and bartenders who got stiffed by you dullards, ...

... here's the most popular bar joke in Las Vegas:

Q: What is the difference between a Canadian and a Canoe ?

A: A Canoe can TIP ! ;D ;D ;D >:(

So here is a word of advice to travelers, - Don't talk shit about the country you are a guest in, ...

... and don't forget to tip your wait-staff!

Mike, I don't know why you keep repeating that Obama is going to tax everybody more? It's simply NOT true!

If you make OVER $250.000 per year, you're going to pay more taxes (the same tax rate as when Clinton was in office).

If you make UNDER $250.000 per year (which is most of us poor working sods), than you will be paying $1000.00 LESS PER YEAR!! I repeat. ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS PER YEAR.

Also, just to keep it real, Obama is for Solar and Wind technologies, but the others need some serious consideration and long term thinking, specifically Nuclear energy, which has serious life-threatening issues with waste and whatnot.

I say, give everybody a fair chance. That's all. We can agree before the election that we'll disagree with lts of the stuff either candidate does after the election. We can even agree to kick the sob out on his ass if he does. I ain't expecting sainthood or paradise from anybody.

Really? Are you talking just income tax? When the pork barrelers jack an extra hundred mil on every bill trying to pad it's way through Congress? I have my expenses from last year. This is fantasy to think an Obama regime will have us paying anything but through the nose. The rich fat cat career Dems (and Pubs) are going to play business as usual, talk a slick game, and get richer while we get poorer.

Yup, that's what he's been saying since day one of his campaign. I'm willing to give the guy a chance and see if he comes through on his word. Either way, one thing is for certain. A McCain presidency can only spell more death, more war, more economic disaster and failed Bush policies, and a one-way direct ticket in the fast lane towards the U$A becoming a total fascist entity. :'(

For further definition of what I mean by fascism, I'm partial to this page:

Also, if anyone has the time, I recommend a great documentary movie called Freedom to Fascism by Aaron Russo.

It's fine, I recognize you for the ideologue that you are. I don't see anyone advocating for McCain but still you must rail against him. You talk of certainties like your opinion is true. A true zealot.
A pox on both their houses.

Your unfortunate position is that you can't win. You'll either have to take off the rose colored glasses when he inevitably let's you down for political expediency or struggle with a brave little face on a ship of hypocrisy and broken dreams. Politicians always disappoint, it's the nature of the beast.
While I can only admire your sense of optimism, I can only smile at your gullibility.
