Did someone mention the Surge? What a complete joke that was. You republicans have been duped over, and over, and over again by your own blind "patriotism," and illogical belief in a government who admittedly lies and misleads it's own people for it's own greedy and immoral profits and political gains. Heck, we can't even get Cheney, Rove, Rice, or anyone from their dispicable offices to come in and testify at a Senate hearing, since they are all now under the ominous and fascist cloud of the Bush immunity protective custody act. I can smell the scent of shit from Washington all the way over here in Boston for christ sakes!
Back to the surge..... According to the Bush government (if you can believe anything they say), the "surge" is officially over and troop reduction is underway. But what most folks don't understand is the surge did absolutely nothing towards getting us out of Iraq. NOTHING. It was just another Bush bait-and-switch game to get the sheeple to buy into prolonging the Iraq-war-for-profit as long as possible. Keep the dollars rolling in; keep extending those lovable no-bid contracts, keep the outsourcing of the military growing, etc., etc. Frankly speaking, anyone with a brain can see thru Bush's "War on Terror" - just another empty slogan, from empty suits, for empty minds. It's not about policy, or democracy, or freedom, or patriotism, it's all about big dollars for Bush's criminal enterprise that some call the US goverment.
More to the point, we now have MORE TROOPS IN IRAQ THAN BEFORE THE SURGE BEGAN. Do the math people. The surge did NOTHING to reduce troop levels in Iraq. Nothing. In fact, all the surge did, was cause an ESCALATION of troops in Iraq, not a withdrawal. Just another shell game.
Meanwhile, the real war is based out of Afghanastan were 9 US soldiers where just killed the other day, and the Taliban is now back in rearing it's ugly head. Also, just like Obama has been saying all along (he never flip-flopped on Iraq at all btw), while we've been wasting our time, our economy, and our childrens lives over in Iraq, Osama Bin Laden and his associates are well-known to be hanging out in Afghanastan and Pakistan, recording tapes and moving around quite freely.
Some people just don't get it, and never will I guess.
But, don't worry folks, once Obama becomes president I'm fairly certain he will capture Bin Laden. Bush, by his own words, said he has no interest in capturing the actual man responsible for 9/11, he'd rather waste human lives over in Iraq for profit, it's suits his needs better.
Luckily, Obama is actually going to end this bait-and-switch so-called "war" - thank god he's running because he's the only sane man in the race. Certainly, McShame is cuckoo for cocoa puffs - we'll never end the war if he gets in.
