If you like "Repo Men", try "Brazil" (Terry Gilliam's). But, this is a question that needs some categories because there are a zillion answers. "Casablanca" is a must see, but so is "Fargo." "Kiss Me Deadly", "D.O.A." and "Blood Simple" or "Red Rock West" are all worth seeing more than once. But, so is "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" or "Witness for the Prosecution."
I guess the first thing someone's gotta know if what they want from a film; thrills, chills, spills, jokes, mystery, sex, inspiration, romance or a combination of some or all. There are great films in all those categories, several in different decades and on different continents in different languages. I think Andy mentioned "[The] Chaser", and I think he means the Korean film. They make some of the grittiest crime stuff.
Anyway, as far as series go, I liked "Wire in the Blood." "Primeval" is supposed to be coming back for another season. Haven't seen the new "Dr. Who", but I've heard that it's good.
