Uh no. Fedor destroyed SYLVIA in like 30 seconds. In Affliction (not UFC).

Oh, yeah! And if these guys would bother to learn how to throw a decent kick, from a diagonal angle instead of straight on, throw the damned kicks faster, and retract the kicking foot at least as quickly as it was thrown....maybe their opponent wouldn't be able to catch their kicking leg so easily :o ....and then knock their ass out! ::)

Yo Doc, yeah, but it looked like a typical strategy of eating the kick in order to grab the leg. The difference here was that he used a strike and didn't use it as a takedown. At any rate, there's little doubt that Silva has heavy hands and great skills. Or, the other guy had a glass jaw and light skills (but I don't think so).

It'll be interesting to see what happens next. Though he wants to stay in the middleweight div, there may be lots of money in the 205lb. But, it may be hard for him to stay in shape at the higher weight.

Anyway, on other fighs: I sort of feel sorry for Jesse. This will be his biggest test.
And, wow, in that last fight, that guy got knooocked ouuuut. I hope he's ok.

5 years from now, every fighter mentioned here will be yesterdays news.

i think this needs to be understood about competitive fighting.

it has no long term value.

practice and exercise on the other hand, much more value.
I guess it's just me growing weary of same old same old sport fighting blah...

it's actually gotten to the point where it is toe to toe slugfest boring crap or equally boring hugfest to tap crap.

so dull.

they should allow blunt or bladed weapons and fight to the death next. in fact, there should be a prison program whereby convicted death row criminals can fight to the death and the winner gets his sentence commuted to life and the loser just bleeds out in the ring. that way, you could make money off of having a death penalty instead of losing money by ahving a death penalty. :D

:-X
I just don't want the hard work and tremendous effort that is put into these events by these fighters to equate to a Slug fest - I think they deserve more respect than that.

+1 (not really, I think Darth is allright, just wanted to jump on the bandwagon to add to the confusion)

I mean, Sherdog has Fedor's first fight listed as being in 2000 and here we are 8 years later. He doesn't seem to be slowing down any. If anything, he is running out of people to beat. Sorta blows that whole "in 5 years he'll be yesterday's news" out of the water.
