Question for the Admins

Postby jerrymartin on Wed May 14, 2008 1:14 pm

About logging on

I have a laptop and I use it both at home and at my school; both are wirelessly connected.

Why is it that I can only find EF.com from my school and when I try to connect at home I can't even bring it up at all. I paste the link right into the address bar, I click the link I have in my favorites, I even type empty flower into Google and click on the .com result. All I get is a dell page with a list of results but not this page.

What's the dilly yo? I can't figure it out. I mean I can find any other webpage from home, just not the flowah.

Any ideas? I'd really like to do most of my ef.com reading from home and not while at the school.

Thanks in advance, Jerry

Maybe your internet provider has a server with some corrupted lookup tables. I am not a specialist though, but it does sound like that. Call your ISP and explain them your problem.

hm, the server guys just gave us a dedicated IP, but I don't think that will affect your logging in from home....
maybe try adding a bookmark for the forum board index as it is right now, and then try it again from home?

Yeah, I already tried that.

We have another computer at home that I will try tonight. That way I'll be able to tell if it's my laptop or if it's my Internet.

Thanks to all for the help!

O.k

So, neither of my home computers can bring up the empty flower.com site.

That confirms that it's something with my provider. What information do I need to provide them with to diagnose the problem?

Thanks, Jerry

try giving them the IP address for emptyflower.com
216.176.193.55

this should be a dedicated IP, but I'm not entirely sure. I'll ask the server guy, since he said he gave the forum a dedicated IP, and this is what I looked up for www.emptyflower.com

all fixed!

It was my god damned router the whole time. I just had to restart it and that did the trick.

Thanks for the effort in trying to help out with this.
