Ron, can he help me with this?

Given the auxiliary equation of a second order differential equation

k2 + b k + c = 0

Show that if b 2 - 4 c = 0, in which case the above equation gives two equal real solution, y = x ekx is also a general solution to the second order differential equation
It hurts when I Pi

I do believe it is proper to say Octopusses, not Octopi (though that sounds better!!).

Any other links to good, color pics for various species?
Thanks

this board has more than a couple of neuroscientists on it, who are conversant in some cutting edge stuff on cephalapod cognition and consciousness. however, the cthulu forum alone merits perusal...

Funny how every noob on this forum wants to discuss biological terminology now ::) I have studied with the famous marine biologist Wim Hardshell for many years. The proper plural of Octopus is Octopodes.

But I'm sure you'll find an online dictionary that says otherwise ::)

Careful, some here might riposte by stating their personal studies under an even more famous marine biologist than Dr. Hardshell...like 2 times nobel prize winner Dr. Jacques D. Fin.
