My dad was an abusive bastard. Anyway, he died in 85. Sometime about a year later I had a dream in which I was talking to him and the dream became lucid, I said, "wait you are dead but I'm here talking to you" and he explained that he had come to understand a great deal about how he had gotten many things wrong while alive and apologized for being such a jerk.

Thanks for posting.

my first experience with this sort of stuff was in the early 90s, on various occasions. But I owe a lot to a member of RSF for opening my eyes (so to speak) and helping me develop this to a whole new level. A lot of what my first kung fu instructor talked about/demonstrated is now a reality for me as far as energetic skills go.

I'm not quite sure what you're hoping to gain by sharing your experience on THIS board....

But there's lot's of people who experience some sort of after death communication when someone near them passes on, and it's cross cultural. (I like cross cultural ;D )

If you want to push your vision I'd try to follow the person involved for as long as you can, and be a stable point for them as their base personality de-constructs. I think the Chinese version of it is the po decomposes whilst the hun moves on, but don't quote me since I'm more familiar with Steiner's model. There's far too few shaman's in modern society, so you're providing a great service whilst you're developing your vision of near-death spaces of consciousness.

I have a few trusted friends who shared similar experiences with me and they were serious about it. I am agnostic regarding this kind of thing, since something like never happened to me, not excluding any possibility.

As a tangent to the "letting go" part that I wanted to write about, my daughter asks me a lot of questions about death. I try to assure her while presenting all the options that are believed to be true (we go to a different place, there is nothing afterward and reincarnation). However, the most difficult part of this discussion is when she asks me when I am going to die. I thought that the question about death did not bother me anymore, but asked by her makes me realize how much I love her and my life and am not ready to give all that up. It's a very strong feeling that is hard to describe: it is sad, melancholic but also full of a sweetness that comes from the desire to live.

I've certainly experienced plenty of strangeness on the non-physical level myself. And I suppose if some type of energy retains cohesion and preserves a person's "personality" or "consciousness" after death, there's no reason why it shouldn't travel efficiently along electrical or other energetic waves or lines.

I'm about where you are, Teo. I've also experienced enough to understand that the limits of my own understanding and experience do not set the limits for what other sentient beings experience or understand. And having met and talked with Dave, I consider him one of the most down-to-earth, least bullshit-prone people I've met.

It's true that he practices baguazhang wearing angry white pyjamas, but that doesn't change my opinion. ;D

I don't have kids, but if I did the first flashcard I'd make for them would probably say, "I don't know."

Thanks Tom, for the kind words. I have sent a payment to your paypal account as compensation as you requested.. haha.

I read the book Angry White Pajamas because I used to train with Rob Mustard - tough as f-ing nails, that man. Absolute, 100% respect for his skills, and most of you guys know I don't dish out compliments very easily. Rob taught at the HonBu Dojo in Japan where they trained all the Japanese riot police

Thanks Maud'dib - I figured based on some of the stuff you'd hinted at in the past you may be along the same path as me. I've had a couple of really cool PMs from other members as well validating my experiences and sharing their own. I also suspect a few other members (I wont mention them) are involved in more shamanistic/occult energy work but perhaps simply haven't stumbled across this thread yet, but I'm hoping to get some PMs from them so I can engage new discussions with them as well. I actually spend a lot of time hanging out with people that are WAY more psychic than me and can see/hear much more than I can, but it's all a learning experience. I find it a bit ... mundane... to hang with people that can't feel the energy of their environment around them. For the last number of years I've been heavily involved in sensitivity training for that sort of thing which has helped my CMA a lot as well.

I've tried to kickstart these types of discussions over the years to weed out some of the sensitives on the forum, but the threads usually de-evolve into ridicule and hassling by the deaf kids in denial. *sigh*

I remember all the ghost experiences my first kungfu teacher used to talk about (Dr. Yuan) and I just thought it was cultural superstition back then. Now I'd like to find him in Hongkong sometime to see if he would help kick my skills up a few levels with some new meditations to develop them... "Hey... Dr. Yuan... I 'get it' now..."

when I was younger and more involved in Zen and Buddhist meditation + kind of "psychotronic "? exercises I sow/feel very close the ghosts /energetic representation/ not only the relatives ,
but
now when I diggin` in qigong I lost this ability somehow...
kinda of strange ,
actually ,when I`m thinkin` about it...
am I on opposite part of the wheel at the present, or something? ;)

Just a general observation: based on the variability of qi sensitivity of people who've practiced qigong, it appears that some styles/schools exercises can nullify certain perceptive abilities. Or the teacher specifically did it.

this may happen ` due to perception more "internally" directed
- "qi follow mind" ,/?/
you simply don`t care about surrounding entities,
so
ability's to see/feel them diminished in time
but
training increase sensitivity, so my guess is that one day it will return stronger... :)
