McCain is 72 and in remission from lymphomic cancer, which I think only 10% of people survive past 10 years of getting the lymph nodes removed, and he's 9 years into that 10 year period. Not a statistician, but if McCain were elected/selected, the chances of Palin becoming the first female president of the USA are pretty darn good, you betcha.

Not that Obama is any better. The guy has proposed youth brigades with guns, which is basically Brown Shirts, Black Shirts, or Red Guard, but instead of making ya drink a liter of castor oil like Mussolini's youth gangs, which forever ruins your digestion and health if not outright killing you, Obama's guys'll just shoot yo' ass. And while he's arming teenagers to be fascist toughs running through the streets, in the Senate he's trying to ban all .223 and .308 caliber ammo for the rest of us to defend ourselves. And in Missouri, Illinois, or Vermont, if you criticize Obama, you get harrassed and/or arrested by the cops, today, right now, it's happening.

reminds me of living in China. went out to an expensive restaurant and asked about what wine they carry.

"really? everything...?"
"yes. great wall white and great wall red" (great wall is a cheap crap wine brand that tastes like it needs to age 3 more years before consumption - it's usually poured into a pitcher and mixed with Sprite)

It was pretty freaky the first few times I saw people mixing red wine and Sprite. All the non-Chinese are like, "Umm, why are you doing that?" When you consider that they normally drink rice wine that tastes and smells like paint thinner, why sweeten red wine?

I brought my mother in law a bottle of Wolf Blass yellow label - I couldn't believe I found a wine store that had foreign booze (metro - mai de long). I think I shrieked when she started trying to pour sprite into her cup of wine. I managed to stop her in time and ask her to try it first. She tried it, shuddered, said 'bu hao he'...then added sprite to it...a LOT of sprite....

I never wasted good Wolf Blass on her again....
