It was reported by David Icke that in the past couple of years since becoming Sec. of Treasury, Paulson has made more than 100 trips to Beijing, allegedly to smooth over concerns about the 1.4 trillion in T-bonds and 3.5 trillion in stock investments by Chinese. It's assumed that is part of the reason for Chinese investors dumping billions into Goldman Sachs, Paulson's old company where he still owns hundreds of millions in stock, while the market was tanking a couple of weeks ago. Can you say "Conflict of interest?"
EDIT: Checked the source and Icke didn't specify the time frame for Paulson's visits to China, so not sure how many years we're talking about. The past few years from the context of the interview.
