Yeah, the stuff he's saying should be obvious, but unfortunately isn't for most people. Modern "developed" societies seem value other things more than the simple things like eating proper food, active lifestyles, and happiness.

Anyhow, I enjoyed those clips, unfortunate fashion choices and all.

Jack Lalanne rules! He's the one that inspired me to get a Juice Bastard. Gotta love those informercials at 4AM.

I actually met him once in a hotel. The dude's got a killer handshake! Talk about some Kung Fu grip... :o He may be 200 years old, but it feels like he can bench press trains and gargle peanut butter.

Well, Lalanne's outfits have always been unusual, compared to what others were wearing in the gym. But, I remember him from his early tv shows. His shows were basically for housewives and others who were at home during the day. His show came on after the kiddie shows (like Captain Kangaroo) and before the game shows began (like The Price is Right). But, Lalanne was really the first person I recall ever talking about health foods on television. Remember, that was when cigarette commercials ruled the airwaves.

Don't know how old he is now, but I remember that when he was 65 he swam across some river towing 65 rowboats behind him for his birthday exercise. Oh, he had his hands tied behind his back too. I think he kept up these demonstrations for a long time. He's a helluva guy.

Ya, when he was 70 he did the swim with 70 rowboats with a person in each boat harnessed to him, hands cuffed behind his back from Alcatraz to San Francisco. No that is some SERIOUS Gung Fu!!! :)

THAT was funny!

seriously guys, do some research on Jack LaLanne's accomplishments. the guy is unbelievable. he pulled a train uphill with a rope in his teeth for two miles on a unicycle. or something like that. but anyway, the guy is an absolute freak of nature for strength.

Wow, I'm less than a third his age, and I don't think I can do these yet (will need to work on them though).
