Off topic, but here is McCain's interesting comment about the assassination of JFK.

I didn't watch the video, but it is interesting to me how many people have questioned whether Obama might/could be assassinated. At the same time, there are even more protestations that opposition to him has nothing to do with his "race." To which I ask myself, "Damn, is he that radical that people think it's legitimate (or even more than likely) to consider assassination?" It makes me feel like Majel Barrett or Robbie the Robot. It just "does not compute." I mean; I sincerely believe that most Americans have no problem voting for a "black" guy --but that also depends on how well they think they know that person. History has shown that, when the shit hits the fan, nobody in his right mind cares about color. The real question, however, is about the number of people who are not in their right minds. There seems to be a general consensus that there exists a number of people (a small percentage) that are capable of this this type of internal terrorism. I.e., the rumors do not indicate that the country is extremely bigoted, but that the country acknowledges that such people are here. The only thing unclear are their numbers.

I mean. I could actually see such comments being made in countries where there is an extreme right iwng or leftist revolutionaries. But, as Michael so often points out, both parties are basically similar. I'm not sure that having a Socialist Party and a Fascist Party is exactly what people mean when they say that the two party system is flawed. Well, we have a Labor Party, with a candidate. Of course, one could also go Green Party. The big problem, though, is that not everyone agrees with the Independent and other smaller parties, either.

Where's the threat here? You are fabulising.
I define internal martial art as unusual muscle recruitment and leave it at that. If my definition is incomplete, at least it is correct so far as it goes.

Calling the assassination an intervention and covering his mouth and nose was scary. I wasn't sure if it was intentional or another senior moment like when he called fellow americans "fellow prisoners" in a recent stump speech.

Maybe Klonk was talking to me about fabulising since I was the one who said threat? Just my interpretation of what I saw. I admit it's open to wide interpretation.

I don't think they're puppets. But, I know they're tools ... in the sense of being used and useful. I think you're right, in that sense, that they are being used by relatively the same interests. However, I would point out that the reasons they are both useful are quite different. Obama's appeal is his popularity. For some reason, he had a message that appealed to many American voters. That's how he became the party's nominee. No one can do that without a big bankroll behind him ... at least for the presidency, anybody can be tapped to be vice prez. McCain, otoh, was the nominee literally "by default." His biggest popularity boost came with Palin, and that was among the core of his party.

Anyway, my point is that, of the two, Obama is probably the more indebted to financial and political interests. McCain is less likely to be inhibited by anyone. He doesn't need the money. Of course, I can't say that is a better thing or that it makes me feel more secure. I think that if the Obama achieves his supporters' ideals, then he is doing what elected officials are supposed to do. The problem with polarization should be obvious, too. People with different opinions become enemies.

Are you serious?

That was classical hipnosis-

It's subtle subconcious suggestion.

He's clearly inferring threat against Obama-

Just like Hillary did when she made her suggestion:

"Bobby Kennedy was assasinated in June." talking about the possibility that she could still get the nominbation even after O was basically there.

Obama has been consistantly compared to Jack and Bobby Kennedy, and to draw a timeline comparison between accepting something that McCain proposed, which is the same thing That Barry Goldwater accepted prior to "the tragedy in Dallas" is in essence inferring by comparison that Obama could also be assasinated along the same timeline.

It's not a direct threat-

It's a SUGGESTION. By suggestion I mean:

Your watching a movie and Heath Ledger's on the screen and lights up a cigarette, right before Jake Gyllenhall looks at him with sex in his eyes. They have sex later...

So Klonk then proceeds to take on a smoking habit.

See?

Just kidding. LOL ;D ;D ;D
