what do you do for your high blood pressure?

This website is all about understanding the heart http://www.heartmath.org/ and they sell something called the emmwave, which measures stress levels by monitoring heart rate variability. http://store.heartmath.org/emWave2/emWave2-handheld

Using some simple technology to allow conscious knowledge of autonomic processes can completely stop the cycle of past habits. When children, we essentially train our nervous system to react to sensory input and it does so quicker than our conscious mind can react, so we frequently experience stress because of things happening sub-consciously, but we also do it with conscious-level thought patterns. When you hook up a simple sensor to see when this happens, you can stop it by perhaps "re-training" the nervous system and also becoming aware of the cost of certain kinds of thoughts.

Can also identify situations and/or people who cause you stress so you can work it out or avoid.

It's very cool stuff :)

Hey guys, thanks for the answers. I guess I was curious about the more esoteric answers people might give. Things like coffee enemas to dump the bile and cleanse the liver.
As I originally said, I'm quite aware of diet being a huge factor, but still appreciate all the info y'all have given. Guess I was just curious about other things people might say, since we have such a broad range of people here from different cultures. Kevin, I particularly liked what you said, as I personally believe stress to be the main factor in most diseases, and I know that to be my main issue at the moment. Truth be told, that's what brought me back to training again.
Michael, thanks for the links, that's some interesting stuff akin to the mind body spirit connection, but for a western audience (without the buzzwords and cult of personality ;-)). -Brett

This thing has had pretty good reviews, seems to work in a similar way as Michael describes above, though probably less direct.

http://www.resperate.co.uk/

I bought it for my folks about a year ago, though as far as I know it still not been taken out of its packaging so cant give any sort of personal account.

Though, I think you should be able to achieve similar results with good meditative relaxed breathing practice.

Also, Beetroot juice is quite good, works very quick, though I don't think its a viable long term solution as I don't believe it addresses the underlying cause.

If your going to try it, bear in mind that 100% pure beetroot juice is not recommended and should be mixed to at least 1/9 proportion with water or fruit juice (apple or carrot work well). Dont know about LA, but we get this mix bottled and organic in shops, it can be a bit pricey though.
