what EF is really good for- no seriously

Postby Pat on Sun Oct 19, 2008 6:39 pm

so the other day Doc Stier PMs me- "i am back in Austin. want to get together?" i said "sweet! i'm there!"

so Doc and i sat down and had some food together, many cups of coffee and lots of good conversation. it was awesome.

EF is really good at bringing all us very different people together under one flag. i have met some good friends here. thanks EF!!!

Definitely, everyone that I've met from EF has been pretty damn cool. It's been a while since I've met any EF'ers, but it's always been nice; definitely a good change from some of the ridiculous martial art nutjobs that I've come across from other places, lol.

Agreed. I've met a great bunch of folks in person over the years. Lots of different people, lots of different paths.

Pat, you got off pretty easy. I heard the last guy who met up with Doc was taken to the salt mines of Wimberly. :o ;D

Only met three of youse guys, but it was cool hanging out with Meeks, Ian, and that other crazy guy from Hong Kong. :) Looking forward to meeting more of ya.

Yeah but we didn't get a chance to cross hands properly. Must do more of that next time. :)

I think I've only met one person from EF who I could do with out, and that was Pre-EF days. Hell, even Rique was a great guy in person. Too bad he's never taken me up on my offer to help him get set up here in Tokyo. (Actually Mr. Lake, that offer extends to you as well.)

Let me see how things go till the new year and I might have to take you up on your offer. I could use a bit of change, just depends on what getting set up in Tokyo involves (my Japanese as usual is quite elementary level if that).

there are two entities that answer to "EF", so i posted on both. some guys only check one or the other. i look at both, but i mostly post here. but that is also due to friendship- nothing at all against the other EF. Ashe and i are friends and Fong is a SC cousin. i count myself lucky in both of those.

i am in just a love, peace, and hair grease mood, i guess.

Yeah, friendship is always better than antipathy.

Which reminds me - I've met quite a few friends at EF, both at the old one and the older one. I think that CMA attracts nice people. :)
