Isreal shells another school

I don't know how anyone could claim this as self-defense.

Yep, that's my country.

Would be interesting to see the reaction if the roles were reversed.

Yeah, Israel should defend itself. But why not target those holding the rocket launchers?

The worst part is the US is about to give Israel billions for their missile defense shield.

Just when Hamas was on the verge of losing pretty much all its legitimacy, Netanyahu manages to prop them up again. Reminds me of how US efforts in the Iraq and such places as and Afghanistan are the greatest possible recruiting tool imaginable for the alleged enemies we're allegedly fighting in this alleged war that we allegedly did not start.

Isn't Hamas the elected government of Gaza?

Yes and their total failure at that has shown people in Gaza something useful, I think.

Things are relative! Many people see Hamas as a savior despite the obvious shelling they have done over the years to Israel! The Gazans live in a cesspool (literally and figuratively) based on Israeli despiction of them along with US support of Israel. That's the Game, so far ???

I see little virtue on either side in this.

Moreover, it is too damned bad the "international community" lacks the claws (or rather, the intent to use them) in this and other conflicts - Ukraine comes to mind.

Hamas needs to stop using Palestinians as pawns and human shields. They keep storing weapons and munitions in schools, mosques, hospitals and other civilian places -intentionally- so that Israel will be baited into attacking to destroy the weaponry. The IDF always sends announcements and warnings to the civilians first, though, via automated calls to cellphones, leaflets dropped in the neighborhoods, etc.

Personally I don't think anyone has the right to shell someone because the other guy might have a weapons.

Besides how can it be proven one the site is destroyed?

A lot of war crimes going on right now. Reminds me of when the US Blackhawk helicopter shot up all those innocent people and nothing was done.

What was done was Bradley Manning was tortured for 3 years and then given a lengthy continuation of his prison sentence. A job well done for US foreign policy.

Where else are they supposed to stash their pea shooters. This is urban warfare. Its not a fair fight.

There is scant evidence that Hamas use civilians as human shields, that's a kind of media propaganda.

Fact is the Palestinians are indigenous people of the area, they are backs against the wall.

Israel is on a journey of self destruction. Perhaps its like psychologists keep telling us, that the abused make the best abusers. Tragic irony.

In the January 2006 Palestinian parliamentary elections, Hamas won a decisive majority in the Palestinian Parliament,[10] defeating the PLO-affiliated Fatah party. Following the elections, the Quartet (the United States, Russia, United Nations and European Union) made future foreign assistance to the PA conditional upon the future government's commitment to non-violence, recognition of the state of Israel, and acceptance of previous agreements. Hamas resisted such changes, which led to the Quartet suspending its foreign assistance program and Israel imposing economic sanctions on the Hamas-led administration.

But doesn't a legally elected government have the right to bear arms and defend itself, to create a standing army for protection under international law? The whole situation stinks of hyprocrisy.

How do you ask for and enforce a nonviolence clause on a sovereign state? Gaza isn't sovereign of course but in theory...
