Side note, an old friend of mine is/was? a master jumper. He did that first jump off the WTC, which is considered the first BASE jump. That was in '77, iirc..

there is this indian guy who gave me a lift out of the DZ.
he told me he did his stage 1 about 5 times.

the first time he crash landed cos he did not apply the brakes.
next thing he knew he was doing high speed rolls on the ground
when he got up his lift lower leg was like a slinky cos it was broken in 5 places.

Doc said he would need operation and he would be out for at least 3 months.
he REFUSED operation and request a cast and to be discharged
he cut out the cast himself in 2-3 weeks and went to a chinese acupuncturist
after like 2 weeks with the chinese needle doc he was walking again
and made his way back to the school to skydive again.

Sounds a little bitty bit like the movie "Peaceful Warrior" (2006) with Nick Nolte, except a lot of stuff is different.

i'ma heading down to perth again tomorrow to do Stage 5 and 6.

many ppl fail and get stuck at these 2 stages.
instructors told me the last time that there was this lady
that failed Stage 6 for 28 times before she passed
so the pressure is on.
