Yes, for sure. Could also be a nice place to go under any circumstances to see some Chinese culture. Beats the hell out of Hong Kong, too.

...Not to say that the mainland isn't fascinating but as a westerner Taiwan is easier to appreciate and I love the food.

Yes, I love the episode of Anthony Bourdain's show where he goes to Taiwan; I already wanted to go there before seeing that, but the food was icing on the cake for me.

The other cool thing is their McDonald's there serves breakfas, which I didn't see in the mainland. I don't normally eat that stuff but when travelling it's nice to have options.
