Nov 18 (Reuters) - A suspect has been arrested and charged with murder for allegedly pushing a man to his death in front of a New York City subway train, police said, adding that the same man was wanted for an earlier pushing incident.
Kevin Darden, 34, was arrested on Tuesday evening local time near his mother's home in the Bronx and charged with second-degree murder over the death of 61-year-old Wai Kuen Kwok, the New York Police Department said.

good thing they caught him. In many countries they have some type of barrier that would prevent this.

This happened 2 blocks from me. What did the media not focus on? What should it focus on? (I wold ask why the internet isn't considered media, but maybe another time).

Afa barriers on subway platforms, ever used NYC, Paris, London or Glasgow subways or the trolleys in Boston, etc.? I think it's hard to stop mentally disturbed people from pushing people on the tracks or in front of cars. Or,... from taking out a hatchet and slashing people.

But, fwiw, at the same station (167 street, Grand Concourse (ask Daj), two Hispanic guys got into a fight and one was stabbed to death. It didn't make CNN. In fact, if anyone watches Spanish language media, the emphasis will be on crimes that are interesting to people in that community. Well, it's my community, too. Here's the crime report
for today http://bronx.news12.com/news/bronx-crim ... -1.4300167

For anyone visiting NY, stick to the center of the platform, preferably near a column to grab onto. This type of incident happens two or three times a year, people tend to look for the incoming train, often leaning out over the track-DONT, it wont come any faster.
