The city of Albuquerque has paid out a settlement in the amount of $6.5 million this week, to one of their own officers who was repeatedly shot by a fellow cop. As we previously reported, Officer Jacob Grant was critically wounded after being shot multiple times by Lieutenant Greg Brachle during an undercover drug bust. Both officers were undercover at the time of the shooting. After walking back up to the car, Brachle quickly realizes that he’d just filled his fellow officer with holes. “I’m sorry,” Brachle screams. “I didn’t know it was you … I thought you were a bad guy.”

Damn another innocent black man killed by police today, after telling the police he had permit to carry and was reaching for his ID.

Three killed cops... Maybe the police at least will think about that shooting civilians could hit back on their friends and colleagues... getting them killed. So the cops killing civilians ended up killing their own friends. That's how things goes. Bad things you do will always hit back at you, one way or another. :P

Violent response will not help. If we show support for the police killed as we have for those the police killed, it may bring some useful dialog.

I agree it's a tragedy and unless we acknowledge that there is a problem this pattern will continue.

I totally expect the people of Dallas to equally sympathize with and support all the victims, in this case they are mostly police.

Sniping law enforcement is obviously insane, so I don't put too much credence into what this guy's motives were. Upset with white people? Really? Doing something like this during the protest march where people you want to help are at risk from your gun fire sort of reminds me of claiming to be from a religion and then killing other members of that religion at one of its holiest sites. Makes no sense.

I'm not following a mad man into some made-up race war.

Naw, I'm the Black man. I'm the problem. Me and my sons and grandsons.

That's certainly the narrative that some are forwarding. When certain people are clearly putting in hours and hours watching fallacious clips to defend an absurd argument, I can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt: There is clearly a lack of education, but that only excuses so much. This is repeated and racist trolling. The disturbing narrative varies between there not being a problem, and the problem being the victims. Of course, I should just let you do the talking as you are the academic expert on this matter. But, I do feel a responsibility to speak up and speak out when I come across this stuff on social media. We still have a long way to go, and some people clearly want to press the rewind button...
