Likely gonna take it out after finding a large stone.

Not seeking any medical advice but anyone care to share experiences here?

My wife's procedure took about 1 hour with a small incision to remove and a 1 day hospital stay for observation!

Thanks man. Procedurally it seems straightforward. We'll see. How does she feel, post gallbladder life?

Avoid too many fatty foods, folks!

Friend of mine, get his gallbladder totally removed it was in Chicago hospital - 3 days total- $15 000 couple years ago/ .

I know natural procedure,
but
it is only for adventures lookin` types... ;)
I do it on regular basics /this is mainly for cleaning the liver procedure - 7 days mix of the juices , final touch - olive oil and lemon juice/. I read , that it works on stones in the Gallbladder too.
However, big one is better to remove mechanically I think.
take care,
and
change diet in the future
/future is now, only tomorrow .../ -oldman-

Yup, no fatty foods!!

After some more consideration, of course I would prefer to avoid surgery.

I am trying gold coin grass (Jin qian cao AKA lysimachiae), eating really well, trying to learn about gallbladder and liver channels. Never had too much practical reason to pursue the TCM info until now, having had a gallbladder attack and a one inch stone (found via ultrasound). Hmmm. Interesting link I stumbled across:

http://www.tcmbasics.com/channels_12reg.htm

If i do qigong (taiji form) I can feel a general blockage feeling in my abdomen. It feels mostly like energy does not want to flow freely down, as if there is a resistance. Doing form and going super easy feels better, though, nevertheless.

wiesiek, I'll try a cleanse after a while, too. I am reading it is possible to crush and soften stones, although maybe not the calcium type that is larger. Some people claim to pass these large stones, though.

One of my TCM friends just told me about this…

One serving of steel cut oatmeal, preferably on an empty stomach.

Follow the oatmeal with a teaspoon of olive oil.

Apparently you will actually feel your gallbladder pulsing.

Repeat twice a day.

Though it's anecdotal, he prescribed this to one of his patients who was in the exact situation you are, and within a month or so the doctors said no surgery needed.

Never heard of the oatmeal but will try it.

The olive oil is supposed to stimulate bile release (for help digesting the fat).

Gallbladder disease is not the result of eating too many fatty foods (for the most part). Stones and gallbladder sludge accrete due to inborn metabolic processes (i.e. it's genetic). If your gallbladder is producing stones it means that the gallbladder is diseased and it should be removed. Large stones can be dangerous (they can block a bile duct). Diseased gallbladders may rupture, which is an excruciatingly painful and life-threatening event.

Thanks, Dr. Fish. I am consulting my doctors. Surgeon's advice so far is his recommendation for removal depends on the pain level (low). Obviously hoping to avoid surgery as well as complications, especially life threatening ones.

Are there any suggestions or methods for dissolving those stones naturally or reducing their size?

Yes from a Western folk remedy view, Apple Cider Vinegar can help.

From a TCM view, gold coin grass and other herbs can help. I'll see a TCM doctor about it soon.

this is mainly for cleaning the liver procedure, there can be storage for the stones too,:
- 7 days mix of the juices/bet-apple/
, final touch - olive oil 150 ml and the same of the lemon juice/. I read , that it works on stones in the Gallbladder too.
Restricted to apple juices 7 day diet also works .
warning
only for eagles :)

ps
exact "cookin` directions" are little-beat more complicated, dough

Read about this flish and a little afraid to try it.

Seeing a TCM doctor tomorrow about the gold coin grass and so on.

If I have any non-mild pain, I'll be ready to go the Western (surgery) route.
