Obama may be good, but it's highly unrealistic to assume that he's going to bring the US that much ahead, even if he's elected for a second term.

While I agree that Obama becoming president won't magically make any and all racism disappear from America, I wonder if the Jesse Jacksons and the Al Sharptons (who have been making a living off of racism for decades after the civil rights movement was old news) will shift their message at all to one of empowerment rather than the "we are still being kept down by the man" line of thinking. This ought to show any observer that yes, in America you actually can become anything you want.
