I believe He Jinghan is his senior. I knew Michael in Taiwan. He was a classmate of mine under Mrs. Zhang (I introduced him to the group, he left when he discovered Master Gong).

Interesting - he did write about learning xingyiquan in Taiwan (in one of his books) - I think he did mention Zhang's name, I had no idea you were there at the same time! :)

I had been studying first with Master Zhang, and then with his wife after Master Zhang's passing. I met Michael through an acquaintance - he wanted to learn Xingyi and Bagua. Mrs. Zhang had left the composition of the group in my hands - I introduced Michael to her and he stayed with the class for about 6 months.

Sad. There are so many ways people use others and mess with their lives... :/

Thanks for the clarification Dr. Fish. Its sad if this article, or what ever it is, is true. Give martial arts a bad name.

P.S. Sorry to master He jinghan, for the mistake.

One of the essays in this book is an in-depth look at a martial arts cult from someone who was in one:

If I recall correctly, there's another essay about how to leave said cult, which can be dangerous.

It can't be! How could he possibly do that after writing this stuff:

An Interview with Dr. Michael Guen, Ba Gua Quan Master Interview

This is very bad, we are talking about the health and well-being of fellow human beings since Baguazhang is a most noble and deep art with foundations in Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Traditional Chinese Medicine. :(

Wouldn't old masters in the past test their students before accepting them?

Moral quality.

Well... It was more or less copied from other sources as that Ba Gua magazine (whatever it's called. Don't remember)

Well, IMHO, it's pretty hard for any teacher to know if your student is a potential child molestor...
