Best Flashlight?

Postby Ian on Thu Nov 06, 2008 12:06 pm

I know of a few names, but I've never had the chance to handle one.

Night-Ops Gladius? Something from Surefire? Other?

Looking for something pocketable, doubling as an impact weapon, high-powered, including a syringe grip, thumb-activated. Strobe function would be nice.

Thanks in advance.
Ian

Surefire's are really good and reliable. But, I just use a flamethrower. People really give you some respect.

I've got a few... "Best" depends a lot on your tastes and needs.
Here's an excellent resource that I've used many times in the past:
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/index1.html
(Although it hasn't been update for the past year, I see... :()
Still useful I think, since things probably haven't changed THAT dramatically in one year.
Good luck.

Was this moved?

I know flashlights have nothing to do with the 'big three', however they are excellent self defense tools, and I thought it'd be more appropriate to ask this question in the main forum.

Damn, Bill! ;D ;) ;D

The best flashlight I have I bought at a convenience store for 10 bucks. It's a super bright LED and runs on like 1 AA. It does the job better than it should and if I lose it I'm only out $10.

http://www.maglite.com/

I remember seeing an ad for maglites here in aus where they showed a semi-trailer truck drive over one a few times, then the driver hops out, picks it up, switches it on and off a couple times, walks off...

Maglites are the best flashlight.
