Were they Muslims?

The media would love that!

Not a Muslim, but he was a 40-something year old Chinese immigrant who naturalized as a Canadian citizen. Later he said the reason why he ate the boy on the bus ride was because of voices in his head and that "God" told him to do it. Unfortunately, can't even blame this one on Allah. Maybe next time it'll be a proper Muslim who yells allahu akhbar for any who might have been disappointed by the outcome here.

Here's something from yesterday. I've blanked out some details. Would they change opinions about the incident?

A teenager was shot and killed for knocking on the wrong door

A 15-year-old Massachusetts resident was murdered on Saturday afternoon after knocking on the wrong door.

Dylan and his friend were allegedly drinking in Chicopee, Massachusetts when they went looking for a friend, reports The Boston Globe.

[The teen] banged on the door of the house at 120 Boucher Circle he thought was his friend's. As it turns out, it was the home of Jeffrey, a 42-year-old man.

When [the man] saw [him] banging on the door, he yelled for Francisco to, "get the [expletive] out," per The Boston Globe.

But when a pane of glass shattered, [the man] fired his weapon through the door, striking the teen in the abdomen, according to a statement posted on the Chicopee Police Department's Facebook page.

The police responded to a call of breaking-and-entering at 12:56 p.m., and found the teen outside the house. They immediately brought him to a hospital, but he died later that same day, according to MassLive.

{The man] has posted pictures of himself holding guns, and wrote in support of the Second Amendment, notes MassLive.

Massachusetts does not provide the same protection for homeowners as other states, according to The Washington Post. According to Massachusetts state law, killing someone who is "unlawfully in a dwelling," is only justified if the occupant, in this case, _____, acted with "reasonable belief" that the intruder was about to inflict "great bodily harm or death."

[The man] was arrested at his home and held without bail, the Chicopee Police Department said in a statement. He was arraigned on Monday morning. A grand jury will decide if he will be charged with murder or a lesser offense.

The shooting shattered the calm in what is usually a quiet neighborhood.

"We have never seen anything like this," Richard Sawyer, a local resident told MassLive.

"It is hard to believe that in such a quiet area of the city this happened," Michael Spillane told The Boston Globe. "I thought some kids just got into a fight. But a murder? A homicide?"

Friends remember [him] as a "good kid," who was "known to joke around," per The Globe.

"He didn't deserve to die," Anthony ____, a friend, told The Globe.

"This was a tragic and avoidable incident that resulted in a young man losing his life," Hampden County District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni said in a statement on Facebook.

"A man is rich when he has time and freewill. How he chooses to invest both will determine the return on his investment."

Furtive movement? Had a derringer strapped to his ankle? He did use some three syllable words, that might have set them off. Talking while black?

It just looks like their threat assessment training is from the pretzel logic school of tactics.

You can't even keep up with the weekly police fatal shootings. I haven't gone back and checked if there was anything that came of the LA police who shot a guy standing on the side of the road. He had a small towel on one of his hands, so, you know, they had to kill him because one time, there was this other guy with a towel, and like...SHOOT NOW!!

Article says the clip was provided by the therapist's lawyer and the police have not released the officer's name.

What other mention?
Have you looked for other sources for the answers to your questions?

Following standard police practise, the officer who shot him is on administrative leave and so far they've refused to give any further information to the press. According to the victim, when he asked the officer why he'd shot him he replied that he didn't know. The state attorney has now been called in and there is likely to be a full investigation. Fortunately, in these days of social media and smartphones, it's becoming increasingly difficult for police authorities to 'keep it in the family' as they have always traditionally done.

As Michael said, there's plenty of info in the press about these continual U.S. 'firearms incidents' (now there's a pretty euphemism).

have you?

Its framed as an "officer" with no other descriptions, usually this means non-white

Its pretty consistent in the main stream medias reporting of police events.
One side of the story is being presented, an edited video that does not explain
the why only partly shows the what.

It will be interesting in how its explained...The guy was shot in the leg. My bet would be
it was an accidental discharge not something done with intention to do so.
