Nice, I got 28.

Some of those were just impossible.

I was surprised that I got the Dam Busters question correct considering I only read about it once in a magazine decades ago.

I got 29. Damned if I never learned about the Battle of Bona Gula(?) or something like that ;)

I'm impressed. Most of you seem to have a pretty good handle on this key historical period, probably more than 95%+ of the population.

I got 32, but should have got 33 since submarines aren't major warships, at least not in my book.

I was born 64 days before the end of the war and grew up with thoughts of bashing the evil Hun still vivid in my mind. They weren't called 'Germans' then, they were Krauts, Huns, Boche, Nazi swine etc. All of them had square shaven skulls, nasty gimlet eyes, duelling scars on their cheeks and only ever said "Achtung, Englischer schweinhund!" or "Donner und Blitzen!" Life was so simple and straightforward then.

So yes, you could say I know my WW2 facts 8-)

Born 1934, spent the war in S. London for the whole war except for a few months being 'evacuated to the coast. Carried a gas mask, got bombed constantly and slept in a shelter for five years. Helped pull bodies out of bombed houses, collected shrapnel, realized life is ephemeral. Great training for life. subsequently lived in the greatest period in human history,
