Did some fencing (foil) when I was a kid (10-12) for about 2 years. Great stuff.

ah luv fencing. Used to do foil as it teaches better distance, timing evasion as opposed to sabre. The latter is still technique but its slashing is more in tune with reality of how the general tool is used
