The subject of martial art cults has come up a few times on here.

its just amazing how lucid, intelligent people can presume and attribute various qualities and feelings base largely on just visual images, what the eye sees

I am under the impression that the "leader" was a master of manipulation and in the early years he stayed in the background.

I have seen this too in martial arts schools where eventually the school becomes more about instructor's wishes and no longer the students. Not as extreme as this though.

Interesting topic.
There are millions of people involved with what could be considered cults.
Fallen gong, Jehovah's witness, Catholic's, Christians, Buddhist, Daoist, Mormon, And all the others too.
It's interesting how all of these say that they are the only true one. Truth is that no one knows for sure if any are valid.
also one of YMMA's books talks of creating a Shen baby, The baby is cultivated for 9 months. Then taught what you know and sent out into the world as
your immortal self. Then there's scientology too. The topic of qi. there is so many things that cant be proved. O.k. so we are on a planet that is in orbit
around the Sun. Wow the Sun! what a concept. who put it there? just being funny.

I know people who go to church who don't agree with everything that is taught and said there. In fact I know people who go mostly for the sense of community, although atheists would like to think otherwise, it has been proven that religious people live longer lives.

Sounds good to me. Stress is pointless.

I read the study and among other things it compares Americans to Swedes and Japanaese as if religion is the only determining factor that sets us apart. I saw a lot of inconsistent variables in that study and found it to be worthless.

I have no issue with atheists but I am surprised how much they want to deny what religious people get from their faith even if they don't agree with that faith.

So is there a worthy study that proves the point I questioned?

There are insecure, ignorant and disingenuous people everywhere, these qualities don't seem to have a correlation with religiousness.

I think this is the cult I've been looking for. Where do I sign up?
