Hello rsf!
It seems that many styles have some twisting/rotating exercises for the hands and arms claiming to stengthen the tendons. further claiming that strong tendons are the source of power in internal martial arts. giving less importance on muscle strength.
How exactly does tendon strength work?
Why do twisting motions make the tendons stronger?
With muslces people easily can test which exercises make the targetted muscle stronger and in which way. Can this assessment be done with tendons too?
It would help compare different exercises and seeing the use of which one, so not to "waste time" on exercises that are less efficient or covering things that have been covered in another exercise already.
Would be nice to be linked to further resources to understand the whole subject.
